Accomplishments

Wheaton Franciscan Healthacare - St. Francis Hospital Health and Safety Fair
In my tenure as the Trauma and Injury Prevention Coordinator, I had the extreme pleasure of organizing a neighborhood health and safety fair, which was voluntarily staffed by the Emergency Department Personnel, Milwaukee County Sherriff Safety Deputy, and crew members of the various ambulance companies in our area. We were also able to hand out free bicycle helmets to children and adults in out community.
Autism Spectrum Disorder - Awareness
Also in my tenure as the Trauma and Injury Prevention Coordinator, I had the extreme pleasure of organizing organized montly health awareness topics. One topic dear to me was Autism Awareness. On every April 2nd, I organized autism awareness with the emergency room staff. Some of our awareness participation events included, Light It Up Blue and Wear Blue for Autism Awareness.
In my capacity as a mother, I started participating in the local Walk Now for Autism Speaks Fundraiser. We have developed walk teams in my workplace and with my son's school and scout troop.
Wheaton Franciscan Healthacare - St. Francis Hospital Trauma Team Activation Policy
In my tenure as the Trauma and Injury Prevention Coordinator, I reorganized our hospital's trauma response policy. I coordinated monthly meetings. I also entered the hospital's patient data into the state trauma registry. I learned about coding. I learned about project management. This was very helpful in preparing me for my role as a primary care provider.
